Below are the steps needed to turn on the Remote Microphone using the Oticon Companion App.
The Remote Microphone feature lets you use your iPhone or iPad as a remote microphone.
The Remote Microphone feature is helpful to improve speech recognition in the presence of competing noise and in the quiet. The speech coming into the microphone will sound as if it is being spoken almost directly into your hearing aids. You can even place your device across the room, and the sound will be streamed directly to your hearing aids.
Open the Companion App on your device.
Once open, tap the Sound icon at the very bottom, left hand side of the screen (shown in dark grey in picture below):
Tap the three dots icon closest to the bottom right hand side of the screen (as shown in white in picture below):
Tap the Remote Microphone icon at bottom right hand side of your screen (as shown in picture below):
Use the toggle as shown in white below to turn on the Remote Microphone.
Toggle the switch to the right and it will change from GREY to GREEN once turned on (as shown in picture below).
Tap the 'x' to close the microphone screen (as shown in the picture below).
Tap the General screen in the background to close the icon menu (as shown in picture below). NOTE that Remote Microphone will deactivate if you change programs, open the battery door (for one time use battery hearing aids), or when rechargeable hearing aids are placed in their charger.
To turn off Remote Microphone, toggle the switch to the left, and it will turn from GREEN back to GREY.
The Remote Microphone is ON when it’s icon is PINK and OFF when it’s icon is GREY (as shown in picture below).
