Have your hearing aids ever suddenly made 8 beeping sounds, repeating this pattern four times in a row? If so, no need to panic!
Why is this happening?
The problem is most likely microphone related. This sequence of beeps happens whenever the microphone is partially or fully blocked, causing it to not function properly.
What can you do to resolve the problem on your own?
Check the microphone openings (3 small holes near the top of the hearing aid, as indicated below).
Ensure it free of debris, wax or other foreign objects.
Use the brush from your hearing aid package and gently clean microphone opening, holding the hearing aid at an angle to allow any debris to fall down.
If the problem persists after cleaning the microphone openings, you may need to contact your hearing aid provider to have the hearing aid(s) looked at. This can be done during HearingLife’s daily walk-in hour, or by booking an appointment.
