Use the QR code below by scanning it with your phone’s camera to determine if your phone is compatible with the My Starkey App:

Download the My Starkey App using the PlayStore on Android phones and the App Store on iPhones.

The Home page will be your most frequently used screen. You can access the Home page by pressing the Home icon on the bottom left of your phone’s screen.

On the Home page you will be able to find many features:

  1. The Battery Status of each of your hearing aids will be visible in the top left corner.

  1. In the middle of the screen, displayed in large letters you will see your Current Program as shown in the diagram below. To change programs, swipe the screen left or right, or use the left or right arrows.

  1. Immediately below Current Program, you will find Edge Mode+ represented by sound waves. This will only be visible for compatible hearing devices. Edge Mode+ utilizes AI to take a snaphot of the sound environment you are in, then instantly optimizes the sound quality it for either clearer speech or reduced noise.

  1. Next to Edge Mode+ is one more way you can move between Programs.

  1. When the Accessories/Streaming Options button is tapped (directly above the Home button), the streaming options appear. This is where you can control any hearing aid accessories you may have such as the TV streamer, or remote microphone, etc.

  1. Next to Home, you will find Health, and this is where your Healthables are located which includes health features such as Fall Detection (see article Enabling Fall Detection in My Starkey App : TeleSupport).

  1. Smart Assistant is represented by the microphone in the top right hand corner. The Smart Assistant allows users to control their hearing aids using voice commands, and also now you can ask questions such as how to change your hearing aid wax guard, or even unrelated hearing aid quesitons like “tell me the weather for Toronto today”. The answer will stream through your hearing aid, and also get typed out on your phone screen.

  1. The Program Options, represented as ellipses or the three dots, located below Smart Assistant, is where you can make adjustments to each program such as wind and noise reduction and even certain frequency or pitch changes.

  1. My Hearing, pictured as a behind the ear hearing aid, is where you go to find your hearing aids, change app settings, and where you can even access a hearing aid diagnostic tool self-check.

  1. Directly underneath My Hearing you will find Binaural Volume Control (if you have two hearing aids), and then Monaural Volume Control. Binaural Volume Control allows you to adjust the volume in both the left and right hearing aid at once, whereas Monaural Volume Control allows you to adjust your left and right hearing aid independently from another.

  1. More is located in the bottom right hand corner of your app screen. When you tap More you will be able to access Telehear AI and Translate & Transcribe. Telehear AI is exclusive to the Omega AI 24 hearing aid. It allows you to describe your hearing concern via typing or your voice, and then offers sound adjustments, allowing you to compare the new adjustments to your original settings. It may even ask follow-up questions to get more information on your sound concerns. Once you approve the adjustment, it will become your new default setting. It will allow you 3 adjustment attempts before advising you to contact you hearing care provider.

  1. Lastly, right beside More, you will find Learn. Learn is where you can find all of the information about your hearing aids for both new and experienced hearing aid users.
