A TV Adapter allows for direct sound transmission from the TV to your hearing aids.
STEP 1
Place your TV Adapter close to your TV with a free line of sight to the hearing aids to ensure the signal is not interrupted.
Plug the power cord into the TV Adapter and the power supply into the wall socket.
STEP 2
The next step depends on your tv connection:
Connecting your TV Adapter if you have a Soundbar:
STEP 3
Once you have set up your TV adapter, you need to pair it to your hearing aids.
One Time Use Battery Hearing Aids
Simply open and close each battery door and then place both hearing aids on top of the adapter.
Rechargeable Hearing Aids
If your charger is nearby, simply put your hearing aids into their charger, remove them, and then place them both on top of the adapter.
If you do not have your charger nearby you can press and hold down the bottom button on the back of each hearing aid until the small light above flickers either red or orange. Then press and hold that same bottom button on each hearing aid again, and this time the small light will flash green indicating the hearing aids have turned back on. Now place both hearing aids on top of the adapter.
STEP 4
Once a TV Adapter has been paired with your hearing aids it will be available as a program in your hearing aids.
Make sure to have the volume on the TV and/or cable box slightly raised for streaming to work. Adjustments you make via your hearing aid or accessories will only affect the volume YOU are hearing the tv through your hearing aids.
There are several ways to change programs in your hearing aids:
Press and hold the button on your hearing aids for a brief 2 seconds. If you have only one button on each hearing aid, a quick button press on your left hearing aid will lower the tv volume, and a quick button press on your right hearing aid will raise the tv volume. If you have two buttons on the back of your hearing aids, pick which hearing aid is easiest to press as the other hearing aid will change automatically at the same time. A quick press on the lower button will lower the tv volume, and a quick press on the top button will increase the tv volume.
Click the third or bottom button on your hearing aid remote to change programs. To adjust the volume of the streaming/TV sound press the top + button to increase the volume and the middle - button to decrease the volume.
Press and hold the + button on your Connect clip for 3 seconds. To adjust the volume of the streaming/TV sound give a quick press on the + button to increase the volume and a quick press on the - button to decrease the volume.
*The program cycle will depend on the programs already available in your hearing aids. If you have 2 programs before pairing with the TV Adapter then a 3rd program will be made*
To change into TV adapter mode using your Companion App:
Tap the arrow under General and select TV Adapter/Edumic OR toggle between available programs using the left and right arrows on the top navigation bar. Select TV/Edumic.
